Wikipedia edit-a-thons have emerged as a powerful tool for communities that are underserved by the lack of diversity among Wikipedia content editors—the Latinx community being no exception. As such, this ‘Latinx intervention’ will train participants on how to create and edit Wikipedia entries. The workshop will be led by NYU Librarians with an expert from Wikimedia NYC in attendance. It is co-organized with NYU Libraries. Refreshments will be served. Capacity is limited to 50 participants. Computers will be available but feel free to bring a personal laptop, an idea for a non-existent Wikipedia entry or an underdeveloped Wikipedia entry. RSVP here.
